Internships are available in a range of business units within Absa, including: Asset Management & Treasury, Banking Operations and Technology, Business Development & Strategy and Internal Audit.

Job opportunities may arise from your internship, depending on company needs and your performance during the internship period.
Your internship may lead to a full-time position within Absa Bank. This depends on your performance during your internship and company needs at the time.
Accredited Full Degree or Diploma (preferably NQF level 7)
You must have an accredited full degree or diploma (preferably NQF level 7) in a relevant field. Your degree must be from a reputable South African institution.
If you do not have an accredited qualification, you should consider studying for one as part of your internship with Absa Bank. The bank can provide guidance on how to achieve this and will assist with funding if needed.
Top academic results; above average pass rate in all subjects.
- Academic results are important. The candidate should have a good academic record with above average pass rate in all subjects. Ideally, the candidate should have NQF level 7 and above. Candidates with NQF level 8 or 9 will be considered as well. A candidate with NQF level 10 is highly preferred.*

Applicants must be able to commit to a full-time internship for at least 12 months. If you do not meet this requirement and would like to be considered for a shorter period of time, please indicate so on your application form.
No current or previous work experience accepted in any field; only intern or vacation work accepted if relevant to the business unit being applied for.

No concurrent studies are allowed while on the programme, unless with prior approval from line manager.
The Absa Bank internship programme is a full-time internship, which means that you cannot be doing any concurrent studies while on the Programme. If you wish to do concurrent studies, please apply for one of our other Internship programmes.
- Only vacation work or internships are allowed by Absa Bank. You may not do any other type of employment during your time as an Absa Bank Intern candidate.
- No concurrent studies are allowed while on the programme, unless with prior approval from line manager (the Company reserves the right to withdraw this approval if required).

- You must be able to demonstrate a strong academic record with at least 60% marks (or equivalent).
- You must be fluent in English and have excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening). This is important as you will need these skills throughout your internship at Absa.
