Center for Dairy Excellence

The Center for Dairy Excellence (CDE) is a resource center that provides the dairy industry with leading edge research, educational programs, and communication services. CDE was established with support from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The objective of CDE is to develop new technologies and processes that will improve efficiency in producing dairy products while reducing costs to producers.

The Center seeks undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in agricultural economics or related fields who are interested in working on exciting projects that can lead to patents or publications. Students must be able to meet specific deadlines during their internship term due to tight timeframes required by sponsors/partners in order for projects to be completed within funding cycles provided by USDA agencies such as National Institute of Food & Agriculture or other governmental agencies such as United States Department Of Defense (DoD). This program is open only for those currently enrolled as undergraduates at four-year colleges or universities located within 50 miles from Madison, WI

NAREIT

If you’re interested in the real estate industry, NAREIT is a great place to get an internship. It’s the national association of real estate investment trusts (REITs), which means they are a trade association. NAREIT’s mission statement says that it “is dedicated to advancing the interests of its members and the value of their investments through education, communication and advocacy.”

NAREIT has over 1,000 member REITs that own more than $1 trillion in commercial real estate assets. The association was founded in 1972 by William F. Brownell Jr., a former chairman of Stone & Webster Incorporated (now part of AECOM).

NAREIT has three main areas: membership services; education & research; advocacy & public policy solutions

National Council of Farmer Cooperatives

The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives is an association of farmer cooperatives, which are businesses that are owned by their members and provide them with services like purchasing and marketing. This organization is a great place to start looking for internships because it works with so many different types of businesses, including aerospace companies and insurance providers. The NCFC has also previously worked with interns in the past, so they’re likely to have a positive view on interns.

The NCFC’s headquarters are located in Washington DC, making it easy for you to visit or meet up with people when needed.

Natural Resources Conservation Service

The Natural Resources Conservation Service is an agency of the USDA that provides technical and financial assistance to landowners and others involved in natural resource conservation. The main goal of the NRCS is to help farmers, ranchers, forest owners, and other agricultural producers increase their productivity while maintaining healthy ecosystems.

The internship will provide hands-on experience in a variety of areas within the NRCS. You’ll be able to hone your skills in scientific research, data collection and analysis, communications strategies for agricultural outreach programs (including social media), working with community groups on developing conservation initiatives related to local food systems or sustainability initiatives for small-scale farms/ranches…and much more!

U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry

The U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry is located in Washington, DC and offers an internship for summer 2019. This internship is open to juniors and seniors interested in research and analysis of legislative issues and policy proposals related to agricultural commodities, trade, rural development, nutrition programs and food labeling policies.

  • Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI) is a national think-tank for agricultural economics. It has been around for a long time and has a good reputation among economists. Interns at FAPRI get hands on training in research, policy, and economics. They also get to work closely with professors and other experts.
  • The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is another organization that offers internships in agricultural economics; however, this isn’t as well-known or prestigious as FAPRI’s program.
