Internships are not just for students either. People who have been working in their field for some time may want to take on an internship as an opportunity to explore some other areas of expertise that they might not usually get the chance to explore at their current job.

The problem is that finding the right internship isn’t easy.

Large firms will be looking for interns that possess experience and skillsets that are hard to get as an undergraduate, if not impossible.

Finding the right internship to gain architecture studio credit is one of the most important things you can do as an architecture student. However, it can be quite difficult to find the right internship. While smaller firms may have less strict requirements on what they need from their interns, it’s still important that you find a good fit for your needs and abilities as well as theirs. Here are some tips for finding a great internship:

This is why I recommend finding a larger architecture firm (or at least one with multiple offices) that has a well-developed internship program. Because these firms tend to have multiple employees working in different locations across the country (and often overseas), they are actually able to provide networking opportunities within their company—and perhaps even job opportunities after graduation!

Luckily, there are tons of opportunities to gain professional experience as a designer, but you don’t necessarily have to work for someone else.

The most important thing is that you find something that interests you and go after it!

Nowadays, many students have trouble finding entry level jobs because there aren’t enough opportunities available. It is difficult for them to find work or even experience in their field without having internships while they are still studying at college because most companies won’t hire someone without experience or at least some form of training before they graduate. This makes it hard for new graduates who haven’t had real world experience yet find out about these positions themselves because the market isn’t flooded with them like other fields such as finance or business administration which can lead some people into thinking that maybe architecture isn’t as lucrative after all (what do I know?!).
