Through this immersive experience, you will learn from your peers as well as from your mentor. You will also be assisted by other members of the FSU Chemistry Department who can help guide your research project and answer any questions that arise during the internship.
During this internship, you will have an opportunity to work on exciting projects such as:
- Synthesis and Characterization of Inorganic Materials

The Chemistry Summer Research Internship Program is an opportunity for students to learn how to conduct independent research under the guidance of respected faculty in the chemistry department at University of Alabama Huntsville. Students will gain valuable experience in research, writing, and presentation skills as they work on projects pertinent to their areas of interest. The program is open to all undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 (or equivalent).
The program runs from May 15 through July 21, 2022 and applications are due by April 1, 2022.

The NIST Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity for students pursuing technical degrees to work with scientific professionals who are leaders in their fields. The program offers paid internships from June through August that include academic credit hours at participating colleges and universities for eligible students. Students must be working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in chemistry, physics, biology or computer science; have completed at least two years of full-time study; be enrolled as a regular student during their summer internship (not part time); and have strong leadership potential within their school or community.

The Polymer Chemistry Lab is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate student that can help us with our current research projects in the area of polymer chemistry. The candidate must have a strong interest in organic chemistry and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Description: This position involves conducting small scale synthesis of polymers using various polymerization techniques such as living anionic polymerization or RAFT mediated polymerizations using low MW monomers containing double bonds such as 1-hexene or 3-octyne. Additionally, it includes purification by precipitation into nonpolar solvents like dichloromethane or hexanes at room temperature followed by filtration and drying under vacuum before analyzing their structures using NMR spectroscopy techniques such as 1H NMR spectroscopy as well as 13C NMR spectroscopy at 147MHz on a Bruker Avance III 400 MHz instrument
