Colleges with Rolling Admissions in New York
Have you been accepted to college in New York but not sure which school is right for you? Most colleges in New York have rolling admissions, which means that they review applications as they receive them throughout the admissions process. This is opposed to a common deadline with a specific start and end date to submitting your application. Rolling admission allows students ample time to figure out where they want to be rather than rushing the decision.
What is Rolling Admission?
The application option known as rolling admission gives you a limited amount of time to submit your application. This window typically opens in the fall, typically on September 1, and lasts until the spring, or until all openings in the incoming class have been filled.
The regular decision, early action, and early decision options—all of which have deadlines and are unlikely to accept a late application—are not comparable to this one.
However, even though rolling admission universities will accept your application all year long, the pressure is still present. The application period will remain open until all openings have been filled, as I already said. As applications come in, admissions committees analyze them and quickly respond with a judgment. After applying, you should hear back between four to eight weeks. In some circumstances, you can hear back in as little as two weeks!
