Sony

Sony is a great place to work, especially if you’re an aspiring artist. The company is one of the biggest in the world and produces some of the most popular games in existence, such as God of War and Uncharted. You could work on projects like Horizon Zero Dawn or Spider-Man!

If you’re looking for an internship with Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), you can apply here. Note that this particular studio is based in London but there are many other opportunities available on their website as well.

EA Games

EA Games is a major video games developer and publisher based in London. They make games for PC, Xbox, Playstation and mobile platforms. The studio has opened a new studio in Guildford, Surrey with a team of over 200 people to focus on their strategic digital initiatives which include esports and cloud gaming.

EA Games also have offices across other parts of the UK including Manchester, Brighton and Leeds.

Rare

Rare is a British video game developer located in Twycross, Leicestershire. The company was established in 1985 by Tim and Chris Stamper, founders of Ultimate Play the Game. Rare is best known for their popular games for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

The company has produced many household games including Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye 007, Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Banjo-Kazooie. They also developed the first three titles in the Perfect Dark series before selling it to Microsoft Games Studios in 2000.

Epic Games

Epic Games is an American video game developer based in Cary, North Carolina. The company was founded by Tim Sweeney in 1991, and has since become one of the most popular developers in the gaming industry. They have produced some of the most recognizable and best-selling games in history, such as Fortnite Battle Royale, Gears of War 4, Unreal Tournament (first released way back in 1999), and Infinity Blade series.

The company’s most notable product is its eponymous game engine – Unreal Engine 4 – which powers a lot of AAA titles like Resident Evil 7 Biohazard or Stellaris (a space strategy game).

Epic Games’ main offices are located in Raleigh Durham area but they also have another office based out of Guildford.

Lionhead Studios

• Lionhead Studios, founded in 1996 by Peter Molyneux and Tim Rance, is best known for developing the Fable series of action role-playing video games. The company was acquired by Microsoft Game Studios in April 2006 and renamed Lionhead Studios Ltd. On 17th April 2016, it was announced that Microsoft would be closing down Lionhead Studios following the cancellation of two projects.
• The first game from the studio was Black & White (2001), which featured a god-like figure who could shape the world around him with his actions and decisions. Black & White received universal acclaim from critics for its innovative concept but received mixed reviews for its execution; however, it still won numerous awards including several Game Developers Choice Awards and BAFTAs.

Stainless Games

Stainless Games is a video game development company based in the UK. They are most well-known for their work on the Carmageddon series, which has been in development for nearly 20 years. Stainless is also known for reviving several popular franchises such as Magic: The Gathering and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions.

Two Point Studios is a UK-based development company founded in 2015 by Mark Webley and Gary Carr. The studio’s focus is on creating games that are fun for all ages, and recently released their first title, Two Point Hospital.

LucasArts

LucasArts is a game development company founded in 1982 by George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. They have had a long history of making games, especially LucasArts adventure games like Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion.

LucasArts was acquired by Disney in 2012, who then sold it to Electronic Arts (EA) in 2013. The company still operates out of San Francisco and develops titles for mobile platforms as well as PC gaming.

Aardman Animations

Aardman Animations is a British animation studio based in Bristol, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1976 by Peter Lord and David Sproxton, who wanted to create animated films with a distinctive style. The term ‘aardman’ means ‘earthworm’ in Afrikaans (the South African language), but also refers to the ability of earthworms to move along without any apparent effort or visible support.
