The program kicks off with an Opening Ceremony where we get to know one another (and eat some good food). Then we dig into the fun stuff — classes begin immediately in HTML/CSS, JavaScript and more. Afternoons are for interactive workshops on topics like resume writing or building web applications with App Engine. We also host guest speakers from various branches of engineering at Google who share their expertise with us during lunch sessions.

In addition to your project work, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with Googlers throughout the session — they drop by to chat during snack breaks or lead small group activities during workshops. Some Googlers even sign up as mentors on an ongoing basis so that they can help students develop their projects over time.
