Feinstein Institute Summer Intern Program
The Feinstein Institute Summer Intern Program provides students with hands-on research experience in disease-oriented research. The program familiarizes students with career opportunities in medical research, and requires a full 8-week commitment from students who are 16 by July 1st 2016.
Research internships at the Feinstein Institute
If you are a high school or college student interested in applying to a research internship at the Feinstein Institute, you’re in luck! You can find out more about this internship opportunity by reading on. To apply, submit an application along with your CV, transcripts, and a faculty recommendation letter. Once approved, you will be expected to participate in the Summer Visiting Scholar Program and complete an onboarding process. Before you start, however, make sure to contact your mentor by April 1, 2022, because after that, the application process will be closed.
Once you’ve submitted your application, you will be assigned to a Principal Investigator. If you’ve been accepted to the program, you’ll be paired with a Principal Investigator with whom you share research interests. The Feinstein Institute also offers research internships through its Center for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Laboratory Services, which is part of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. If you are a freshman, you can also apply to intern at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine.
The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research is a branch of Northwell Health located approximately 20 miles from Manhattan. During your time at the Institute, you’ll be working in a lab of scientists and medical professionals who are raising the bar in medical research. Interns will be matched with a staff member or physician mentor to help them complete a clinical research project. Interns will spend two to four days a week working on their project.
