- What is the Financial Development Program?
The Financial Development Program (FDP) at CitiGroup gives individuals a chance to gain experience in the banking industry and obtain training in various areas of banking. There are two tracks within the FDP program: one that focuses on corporate relationships, and another that centers on institutional sales and trading. If you join this program you’ll be able to choose which track you’d like to pursue, but it’s important to note that your placement will be based on a range of factors such as your interests, your background, and how well you perform during the application process (more on this later).
- What does the program entail?
Before starting your internship with CitiGroup, you’ll spend three weeks at an Orientation Boot Camp where you’ll learn about the company’s history, culture and values. You’ll also hear from executives about their experiences working for CitiGroup. In addition to this orientation coursework, you’ll also have an opportunity to complete leadership development projects and work with other interns toward common goals. You’ll then be assigned to a division within the company based on performance during the screening process as well as your interests. In most cases this division will be located in New York; however some exceptions can be made if there are sufficient opportunities available at another location.
