Government Internships – Summer 2021
The City of Detroit is offering a Summer Internship Program. The program runs from June 3rd through August 9th, 2019. If you’re interested in working with the city government, apply now! Recent Graduates Program
The City of New York offers a variety of internship opportunities for students who have recently graduated. Internships in the city government are a unique way for students to make a valuable contribution to the community. Students must be enrolled in a graduate program or a college or university and have graduated within the current spring semester. Interns are chosen through a review process. The application period for FALL 2022 will be July 1, 2022, through September 14, 2022.
While many of these positions are fully remote, others are hybrid positions that require some travel to Washington, DC. Each team will list the needs of each position. However, the internships are designed to give students valuable hands-on experience in a foreign policy environment. The government also offers opportunities for those with undergraduate degrees. Pathways Internship Program offers paid internships in various agencies across the United States. Interns are hired by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for a year and are paid while they work on their degree. Depending on the internship, these opportunities may be permanent or only temporary, but they provide invaluable work experience. Students may apply for more than one internship position, depending on their degree requirements.

City of Detroit’s Summer Internship Program
The City of Detroit’s Summer Internship program is a unique opportunity for students to get real-world work experience and gain valuable real estate knowledge. The program is organized into four two-week rotations for high school students and involves learning about real estate, business, investment, and management. The internship is run by a Project Destined alumnus, who acts as the Program Manager. Interns will work closely with company executives to develop team building and professional work experience.
Students enrolled in the program complete four credits of project-based research. After that, they complete 3-6 internship credits commensurate with their hours of work. They are guided and mentored by faculty members, who are also involved in the program. In addition to their internships, students also attend fun social events and professional gatherings. The program runs from June 1 to August 7.
Students with graduate-level studies who are interested in public policy, urban planning, and business may also apply for the program. The internship will be a paid or unpaid position, and they will report directly to the Mayor’s senior staff. During this program, interns will work on various projects within the city and gain hands-on experience in public service, policy-making, and local government. They may work on issues related to education, health, business, or community engagement.
HOUR Detroit Magazine is a publication that provides unpaid internships. In addition to hands-on labs, participants engage in mission-driven problem-solving exercises. Students are expected to develop and apply exploitation techniques. The program will run from mid-May to August after high school graduation.
To apply, students must have U.S. citizenship and be available for an operational interview and processing between November 2020 and March 2021. This summer’s Internship Temporary Program offers a chance to become a salaried intern in the National Security Agency. Interns work on projects that contribute to the NSA’s mission and will involve developing tools, modifying software and hardware, and conducting research. White House Internship Program
