Moreover, the college’s campus police department has direct computer access to the Colorado Crime Information System and the National Crime Information Center. To help police departments serve the community, Red Rocks Community College offers courses in several occupational fields. Students can earn two-year associate degrees in various fields of study, such as computer technology and multimedia. Red Rocks Community College also offers job training in many in-demand occupations, such as law enforcement, security, and EMT professionals. IACP’s Student Internship Program
The IACP’s Student Internship program for police departments hires undergraduate and graduate students to provide valuable assistance to law enforcement agencies. Interns participate in research projects, participate in conferences and take on assignments that may not be directly related to the field of law enforcement. As a result, interns gain firsthand experience of law enforcement practices and are able to explore their interests in policing.
As a part of the IACP’s Student Internship program, interns are placed at a police department for five weeks and gain knowledge about the different units of the department. LEADS Scholars also participate in the IACP’s online community of practice, which connects active Scholars and serves as a knowledge repository. Miami-Dade Police Department’s Internship Program
