It’s based in east London and has a community of over 10,000 members.
Future Labs
Future Labs is a student-led innovation lab and startup incubator, part of the University of London. Students from different disciplines work together to create real world projects that solve problems in their communities. Future Labs has launched several successful startups including StudentTutor, CurvyClothing and Poets&Quants, which have been featured in publications like The Evening Standard and the Financial Times.
Students at Future Labs are given access to resources such as mentorship programs, funding opportunities and other educational services provided by UCL Innovation.
Google for Startups Residency
Google for Startups Residency is a program for early-stage startups that are ready to scale. It’s designed to help startups reach new markets, grow their team and raise capital. The program is free and open to startups from any industry. The program is fully remote, so you can work from wherever you like!
Google will provide $10,000 in credit at Google Cloud Platform as well as access to their network of accelerators, investors, partners and mentors (including Google staff). In addition, they’ll provide resources such as office space in London or Berlin if needed – all free of charge!
Generate London
GENERATE is a development programme designed to support emerging talent in the creative industries. The programme is open to all disciplines, including designers, artists, architects and technologists. You can be in any year of study, or recently graduated, and we are open to students from any university or college in London.
The GENERATE programme provides participants with hands-on experience of working at some of London’s leading design studios. During the three month period you will be paired with an industry mentor who will act as your personal guide through the course of your internship. This includes helping you refine your personal statement and portfolio as well as providing advice on how best to prepare for interviews once you have completed your placement.
The Functional Programming Summer School (FPSS) 2019
This information is for students who are interested in applying to the Functional Programming Summer School (FPSS) 2019 internship.
- What we expect of you: We will provide mentoring and guidance to help you develop your skills and experience in functional programming, but you will be expected to take responsibility for your own learning.
- Benefits: We’re offering one paid position, along with a travel bursary up to £300 if needed. In addition, FPSS 2019 attendees can also apply for a free ticket to DotGo2020!
- What you’ll learn: You’ll get exposure to real-world use cases of functional programming from industry experts, including some of our speakers who have included engineers from companies like Facebook, Uber and RBS. You’ll also have plenty of opportunity for learning on your own through tutorials at the conference (sometimes led by sponsors), as well as networking events where people can share their knowledge over drinks or lunchtime snacks!
