The Loring Anthropology Collection at the University of Montana

If you are interested in learning how to work with artifacts and collections, this internship is a great place to start! You will be able to explore the history of the region, learn about preservation and restoration techniques, and document objects. In addition, you will also have the chance to work with other students and faculty.

The Loring Anthropology Collection at the University of Montana consists of more than 30,000 items representing over 4 million years of human history from around the world. These items range from textiles from Africa to weapons from Asia but most importantly include over 7500 archaeological specimens collected by Luther Cressman when he worked for many years as an archaeologist for what was then known as The American Museum of Natural History in New York City (now part of The Wildlife Conservation Society). These items represent some of his most significant discoveries including:

The Museum Studies Program at Tulane University in New Orleans

The Museum Studies Program at Tulane University in New Orleans is the oldest museum studies program in the United States. The program consists of two unique courses that focus on museum education, administration and curatorial work.

The first class, Museum Education for Children and Families, focuses on providing students with a comprehensive understanding of how museums can best serve their audiences through educational programming. Students will learn how to create effective programs and activities that engage visitors in new ways while also promoting social equality and justice.

The second course is called Introduction to Museums: A Curatorial Perspective and it teaches students about how museums operate on a day-to-day basis by examining all aspects of the museum industry from collections management to exhibition planning and design. This class covers topics such as building collections; researching artifacts; preserving artifacts; preparing exhibitions; interpreting exhibits; writing labels etc., so students gain insight into what it is like being a curator at any type of institution (museum or otherwise).

The Forensics Internship Program at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at California State University, Los Angeles

The Forensics Internship Program at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at California State University, Los Angeles provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in forensic anthropology. Students will learn how to identify skeletal abnormalities, fractures, and sex differences from human remains. Students will have an opportunity to participate in fieldwork involving the recovery of human burials under the supervision of professional staff. The program also covers topics such as crime scene investigation and evidence collection.

At the Cultural Survival Internship Program in Cambridge, MA

The Cultural Survival Internship Program offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of human rights and cultural survival. The program is a paid internship and individual candidates can choose their start dates. The internship will be at Cultural Survival headquarters in Cambridge, MA for 12 weeks.

At the International Museum of Cultures in Dallas, TX

The International Museum of Cultures is a small, privately funded museum located in the heart of downtown Dallas. The museum offers three types of internships:

• Internship for Anthropology Majors/Minors
• Internship for Non-Anthropology Majors/Minors
• Summer Student Employment Program (SSEP) interns

Please note that all internships are unpaid and students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program to apply . The Smithsonian Natural History Museum is the world’s largest museum, education and research complex. The Smithsonian Institution has 19 museums and galleries on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and six major science research centers across the United States. It has over 137 million items in its collections including artworks, artifacts and specimens. The National Zoological Park (NZP) is part of this group of museums and it’s located two miles south of the National Mall with an entrance at Connecticut Avenue NW between Woodley Park Metro Station on the Red Line and Adams Morgan/Columbia Heights Metro Stations on both lines.

• What type of work you will do as an intern at IISE
• Depending on your background, you may work in one of several departments within the institute’s career services division: international education programs (participant services); global education consulting; domestic program management; employer relations; alumni relations and development; school outreach; or communications & marketing. Your responsibilities could include administrative support such as answering phones and emails from prospective applicants or sending out mailings to employers about upcoming recruiting events; assisting staff members with writing curriculum materials provided by universities/colleges around the world that allow their students to study abroad through IISE programs during their time off between semesters (these materials include brochures advertising these particular universities/colleges’ academic options); organizing pre-departure orientation sessions for incoming group leaders and individual participants so they know what they can expect when they arrive at host institutions overseas (these orientation sessions might include cultural training about local customs as well as advice about how best go about planning activities during their stay); supporting operations teams responsible for managing both domestic campuses across America where language courses take place as well as international campuses abroad where students live outside their own borders temporarily while taking summer intensive language courses during short vacations between semesters—anywhere from two weeks up until six months long depending on the duration
