The Economist

The Economist is an English-language weekly magazine which covers politics, business and finance. It has a circulation of approximately 1 million globally, making it one of the world’s most widely read publications.

The company itself was founded in 1843 by James Wilson as The Economist, with a view to providing information and analysis on trade, commerce and finance to readers around the world. Over time this evolved into covering news about politics and current affairs; today The Economist focuses on all aspects of political, economic and financial life across the globe – from national to local levels.

The Economist offers internships for students who want to gain experience in journalism or communications roles within their organization (they do not operate any other internship programs). These placements tend to be very competitive due to strict entry requirements: applicants must have graduated from university within 6 months of applying with at least 2:1 honours degree classification (or equivalent) plus 1 year full-time work experience (or equivalent). If you’re interested in applying then you should contact your university careers service before starting your application process; they will give advice on how best get started with finding opportunities like these!
