Psychology
Psychology is the science of human behavior and mental processes. It’s a great major for anyone who wants to work with people, especially those with mental health issues. Psychology can also be used to help you understand your own behavior and thoughts.
Psychology students learn how people think, feel and act. They learn how people respond to different situations or stimuli in their environment. Psychology majors use this knowledge to help people make decisions about their lives and relationships with others.
English
English is a very popular major at Georgia Highlands. You can work in many different fields with an English degree, including teaching, writing, publishing and editing.
You may be interested in becoming a teacher after you graduate from Georgia Highlands. If so, you can get certified to teach K-12 English language arts or secondary education if you have an undergraduate degree in English or a related field. You may also decide to pursue a master’s degree in teaching if you want to teach college courses or become an administrator at the high school level.
The legal field has many jobs available for those who have an undergraduate degree in English because lawyers also need skills such as taking notes during meetings and writing up contracts for clients’ businesses. Specialized positions involving technical writing are also common among lawyers who specialize in certain areas of law (e.g., patent law).
History
History is about the past. It is about people, places and events. It is about how people experience the world. It is also about how they interpret it and how they change it. Finally, history reflects changes in society and culture that affect individuals’ lives over time. History majors learn to understand these processes as well as to think critically about them through a variety of methods such as primary source analysis, historical writing and research methods; archival work; oral history interviewing; museum studies; internships with historical organizations such as museums or archives; fieldwork involving excavation projects at archaeological sites; service learning projects in community agencies supported by local businesses where you can apply what you have learned through class discussions or readings from your course materials
A major in History provides an excellent foundation for graduate school study leading to advanced degrees like law school (JD) or medical school (MD).
Math

The Math Department offers a variety of courses that will prepare you to enter the job market or continue on to graduate school. Art history
Art history is the study of objects from all periods throughout history. An art history major takes classes on various topics, such as aesthetics and criticism, art theory and practice, and global perspectives. They also learn about how to interpret works of art through a variety of media including painting, sculpture, architecture and more.
Art history majors can expect to find many job opportunities in museums or galleries where they will be responsible for curating the items that are on display. This can also include helping out with fundraising efforts as well as researching new exhibits that could be added to the collection. Art historians who wish to continue their education may choose to pursue graduate school as well or become freelance writers who specialize in this area.
Communications
Communications is a popular major that is well-suited for students who enjoy writing, speaking, and listening. Communications majors can go on to be journalists, teachers, public relations specialists, and more. Examples of these jobs include:

Both critical and constructive thinking are important parts of a liberal arts education because they help students become well-rounded individuals who can engage in thoughtful and meaningful discussions with others.
Criminal Justice studies
Criminal Justice studies is a great option for people who are interested in law enforcement, prosecution, and criminal justice. Criminal Justice studies is also a good major for those who want to work in the criminal justice system.
If you want to become a lawyer or go on to graduate school, this major gives you a strong academic foundation for these pursuits.
Physics
