1. Medical Residency

The Urban Dictionary defines “internship” as the most useless waste of time the world has ever known. For many, this definition is spot-on. Other people, though, find internships to be educational and valuable. While it may help to view an internship as a golden opportunity to gain experience in your chosen field (or at least something to put on your résumé), don’t expect to get paid much—if at all—for your hard work. If you are fortunate enough to find a well-paying internship that benefits you and not just your employer, consider yourself lucky!

The Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) is a government-run tertiary hospital in Iloilo City, Philippines. WVMC has a medical school and training school for nurses. It is located in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. The hospital was established in 1872 as the Iloilo Provincial Hospital by virtue of an Act establishing it as such by the Spanish colonial government. In 1918, it was renamed to Western Visayas Regional Hospital and became affiliated with the UP College of Medicine before its independence from government control and privatization under the Marcos regime. In 1999, under Republic Act 8754, the hospital was renamed again to what is now its current name and reverted to Government ownership and its affiliation with the UP College of Medicine restored. It serves as a teaching hospital for medical students of West Visayas State University College of Medicine who take their internship there as well as other interns from various colleges and universities across the country.

In 2019 Western Visayas Medical Center made history when they successfully performed a heart bypass operation on an 89-year old patient named Mr. Israel Cuesta Chua, who became the oldest person ever to undergo heart bypass surgery in western visayas region after he was diagnosed with severe coronary artery disease (CAD) two months prior to his operation which required multiple bypass grafts in all three major coronary arteries due to extensive lesions that caused an obstruction of blood flow resulting in decreased oxygen supply to his heart muscle leading to frequent chest pain or angina pectoris (a condition brought about by poor blood flow through narrowed or blocked arteries). At present being 90 years old, Mr Cuesta Chua has recovered completely from his surgery without any adverse effects at all given his age despite concerns that he might not survive it because of his advanced age hence making him one of the world’s oldest people ever have undergone heart bypass surgery successfully thus far according to available literature records worldwide on Google Scholar search engine website where majority if not

List of hospitals offering internship for medicine students

In order to find the best medical schools and internships, it’s important to know the various types of hospitals. Hospitals fall under one of two categories: non-profit or for-profit. A non-profit hospital is a charity that provides free services in exchange for donations. For-profit hospitals are businesses that will charge a fee for services.

The information about internship programs at hospitals listed below can be found on websites dedicated to each hospital, so I won’t provide them here.
