Medical internships can be particularly helpful if you’re considering a career in medicine or nursing, but they’re also beneficial for people interested in health administration, public health, and other fields related to medicine and public health.
As an international student, you might be able to take part in a medical internship for credit at your university or as part of an official program like Global Experiences in which case the internship is paid and available for credit. (The exact details will vary based on your university.) Alternatively, it may be possible to arrange your own medical internship through a local hospital or clinic—in this case, the internship will most likely not be for academic credit unless you are able to work out some kind of arrangement with your university.
Admittance into a medical internship is not guaranteed.

You may also wish to begin during your school’s holiday break, or during a semester (either at the beginning or mid-way through). In addition, once you have begun your internship and training it will be possible for you to decide how long you want it to last. This can range from just a few days or weeks up until several months.
