There are lots of ways in which you can contribute to the work of UNICEF by helping us secure the funding needed for protecting children.
There are lots of ways in which you can contribute to the work of UNICEF by helping us secure the funding needed for protecting children.
These may include:
- Supporting fundraising activities, including researching trusts and foundations to approach for funding; drafting applications and reports; keeping accurate records using our database; and undertaking general administrative tasks that help to ensure a smooth running of our UNICEF office.
- Helping with grant-writing in preparation for major events such as the UNICEF UK Winter Appeal or Children’s Champion Christmas Tree Festival, including research into potential funders, writing text and collating visual images.
- Assist with local fundraising activities such as street collections or charity events. We also organise an annual Christmas tree festival in collaboration with St Paul’s Cathedral where we need assistance with event management and administration.
- Helping with communications including writing press releases, updating social media channels, designing promotional material and raising awareness about the work of UNICEF through speaking at schools or other groups if you feel comfortable sharing your experiences.
Your contribution could be helping our teams to secure the funding we need to protect children, or helping them to recruit volunteers who will support our work.
Your contribution could be helping our teams to secure the funding we need to protect children, or helping them to recruit volunteers who will support our work. This could be anything from developing a new fundraising strategy or organising an event, to writing a newsletter and supporting our social media channels. You’ll get the chance to develop your skills in any of these areas and you’ll be able to demonstrate how you can contribute your ideas.
It’s worth noting that we’re unable to offer internships at project level (for example in health or nutrition) as this is not a good way for us to make sure we’re supporting children effectively. We also can’t guarantee practical experience of field work.
This kind of internship is ideal if you want to help UNICEF by providing tangible goods and services that directly benefit vulnerable children.
In this position, you will be helping us provide tangible goods and services that directly benefit vulnerable children. Working with other passionate people to contribute directly to a global cause can be incredibly rewarding, and it may also give you an opportunity to travel and meet new people.
If you are keen to use your IT knowledge to support UNICEF, this is a good way to do it. However, please note that we accept interns into this category only if they have significant IT experience (e.g. three years or more in the case of graduates).
