virtual internships paid
American Association of University Women
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a nonprofit organization that works to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. The AAUW Internship Program provides interns with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and gain valuable experience in the nonprofit sector.
The AAUW awards several internships each year. Each internship lasts between four and six months, but most interns stay on longer than this because they enjoy working at the organization so much. Interns receive a stipend that varies depending on their level of experience (see table).
American Society of Mechanical Engineers
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers has several paid internships available for students in mechanical engineering and related fields. Internships are offered internationally and last 8-10 weeks. The current internships can be viewed on ASME’s website, [ASME website]
American Society of Civil Engineers
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a professional society of civil engineers. The ASCE Virtual Student Conference (VSCon) is an online program that allows undergraduate students to earn college credit and gain work experience while participating in the conference. Participants are paid $750-$1,500 for their 10-week commitment.
This internship will give you hands-on experience with civil engineering tasks related to infrastructure development as well as project management techniques. You’ll also get exposure to how engineers interact with other professionals in the field, such as architects and contractors, through discussions about building plans or technical issues with your assigned project team members throughout the summer.
This program is open to juniors and seniors who have at least junior standing in a Bachelors Degree Program or higher from an accredited institution.*
